Been looking at starting the purchases for my build. To start I am searching for the the e153 lsd trans. I have found a few on ebay and what not but for pricing reasons I was thinking about just comboing it with a motor, (another 3sgte most likely.) Anyways, the companies with the jdm motors for sale on ebay and all over the net never have a version of the transmission. I found a st215 caldina motor with an 5spd fwd transmission on it. Which doesnt make sense cuase the caldina didnt have a 5spd fwd M tranny. Anyways, was hopeing to get lucky with the tranny being a e153 lsd, so I called and they asked me to describe how to find out which tranny it is. Is there a proper way to describe any distinguishing features of the tranny to know if its an e153?

Seriously, these manufactures need to start marking this ****. smile.gif lol

the only E153 that came with an LSD that I know of was the 93+ MR2. while the LSD will work the transmission will not. Not without modification. the shifter linkage is on the front instead of the back. so you have to either mod the case to move the linkage in the back, or install the LSD in a camry/Solara transmission.

I have a 2000 Solara E153 in my car.
