Can someone give me some direction as to how to clean the throttle body?

I have a gas pedal that gets "stuck" where I have to smash down on it to get it to operate again (causing the car to shoot off like a rocket).....this usually happens at red lights but sometimes when I have been driving at one speed for awhile and go to accelerate. I have read that this is usually sign of a throttle body needing to be cleaned and I would like to do this myself.

Any tips?

Often the issue isn't the throttle body but the IACV -- and even if the TB is the culprit, cleaning the IACV is a good idea, especially since you'd pretty much have to remove it anyway.
