I have been burning up wheel bearings recently and through a process of elimination. I learned that the hub had gone out. Originally I thought the abs ring that came on the new axel I installed was grinding on the hub, so I pulled it all apart to find out it was one of the races that had come loose( don't ask me how, I put 150+ flb of torque on the axel nut) while I had it all apart I tried to tap the abs ring off (had a corolla I had to do that with once). Apparently during the process I managed to un seat the axel from the trans and it was leaking profusely. I figured I lost a quart or more fluid. So I re seated the axel and added some more fluid and yet it still leaks, not as bad as before though. Probably about 1 decent sized drop every 2-3 seconds
I let Jiffy lube change the fluid the day before I noticed the leak. I had them run 1qt of ATF through because I had no idea when the last time the fluid was changed or if it had ever been flushed before I boughte it. I'm right at 160k miles so I figured I couldn't hurt to be safe Any ideas before I pay an arm and a leg taking it to a transmission shop? -------------------- 97 Celica GT liftback DD/ project

Thanks I mostly run through auto zone because of their reward program. I actually ended up getting the seal and a 24mm wrench so I can do my own fluid changes on the tranny now. Walked out the door having only paid 12 cents
