new-to-me 99 gt convertible badly needs a clutch. i'll be doing the work myself over the next two weekends, so hopefully that'll give me enough time.
i already ordered the parts (aisin clutch kit, timken seals, sachs flywheel), along with every nut and bolt i'm probably going to break in the process. this thread is just to ask for help along the way, post pics of my work, and get yelled at for not doing it the right way ![]() i plan on tearing it apart this weekend and putting it back together next weekend. then i can get it inspected and titled. -------------------- |

It took me a good 8 hours, but it was my first FWD clutch job as well
I managed to tear my new passenger side output shaft seal, which resulted in an extra trip to town. Find yah a big socket that fits snug over the lip on the seal, then use a 2x4 and a hammer with some caress to get them in right. Yep, jacked it up as high as I could get it. Flywheel bolts, and the shaft seals in the tranny. |
