new-to-me 99 gt convertible badly needs a clutch. i'll be doing the work myself over the next two weekends, so hopefully that'll give me enough time.

i already ordered the parts (aisin clutch kit, timken seals, sachs flywheel), along with every nut and bolt i'm probably going to break in the process.

this thread is just to ask for help along the way, post pics of my work, and get yelled at for not doing it the right way biggrin.gif

i plan on tearing it apart this weekend and putting it back together next weekend. then i can get it inspected and titled.

help! confused.gif frown.gif

i don't know how to lower the tranny safely.

axle shafts came out no problem

all the linkages and wires are disconnected.

i don't know what to call everything (i'm a truck guy, not fwd car guy), but the middle "crossmember" (two bolts in the front, holds the trans mounts) isn't coming out because the rear mount goes through it.

i'll post pics here in a sec

there was a great web page, all in japanese, with ~5 pages of great pictures. but now i can't find it. anyone have it?

do i need to remove the "sub-frame" (holds the lower control arms)?
