My 94 Celica GT (5sfe) has a blown head gasket. So I figured I might as well do a mild build. I'm not looking for big power. Just a little more. I don't have a goal in mind or any future plans of big power. I was just fine with it stock but with the blown head gasket a mild build wouldn't be such a bad idea. Maybe just throw on a set of cams and be done with it.

I've been using the search and I'll find bits and pieces of information here and there. Will search and search some more. I'm hoping to attract the attention of someone who has done a build on their 5s head. What they've done and what they might suggest. So far it seems like regrind cams are the way to go but will require the valves to be shimmed? 2jzgte valves will work but will need some modification? Seems like stock valve springs should work just fine.

If anyone has any input please let me know. I wanna get going on this soon so I can get the car back on the road.

Webcams 294 grind, mill the head 0.040" for a bump in compression and call it a day.

Building the head for power without changing the stock rods for better units is pointless since you'll be RPM-limited by the rods to 6500RPM stock redline.
