Hey everyone. So I'm looking to rebuild the 7afe in the new daily/project. I have a machine shop that does work for dirt cheap so I'm just going to rebuild the stock motor.
Question is. does anyone have any suggestions on full rebuild kits? Or just piece it all together buying parts from Toyota? Trying not to spend a fortune as this is NOT a performance build. Rebuilding Head & Block. Kit needs to include water & oil pump, head gasket, valve cover and all other head & block related gaskets. Might even be looking for a 'master kit' that would include pistons and perhaps rods if they are found to be outside of 'spec' (doubtful, but had rod knock). Thanks for any information you might have. -------------------- proud =3sgte SWAPPED= '95 Celica ST owner [calling it the GT2 or half-trac]

i have a very detailed thread on building the 7A-FE in the stickies.
toyota has an engine rebuild kit. make sure you get one for a 97, it will come with the metal headgasket and every other gasket, plus more.... unless your cylinder bores are way out of spec, you only need to hone the walls and use new rings on the pistons. -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo
