I bought myself a nice C160 gearbox with LSD lately and within a month (i hope) we're going to put it in the Celica. We wanted to put it in this weekend but i'm ill unfortunately.
I have removed the center console and other parts to get to the shifter box. I'd rather not mount them again and then do the dismount and mount all over again at the time we're going to put the 6-speed in. I;m wondering if i could change to the C160 shifter box and cables in advance and using it with my own C52 gearbox. Would this be possible you guys think? Only 'problem' i could imagine is that putting it in the 1st gear is a bit more difficult, but besides that?? Thanks! This post has been edited by onnaj: Oct 12, 2013 - 7:33 AM -------------------- |

yeah you shouldn't have to change the shifter assembly for a transmission swap. maybe the cables at most.

Someone who did the 4age 20V change with the 6-speed LSD told me he had to dremel his own shifter box, otherwise he wasn't able to shift into reverse which is left from the 1st gear. With the stock C52 box the reverse gear is (as you might know) completely right below. But this is just wat i've heard. -------------------- |
