Hi everybody. I'm new to celica's and toyotas in general after coming from mainly building 13b rotarys. I found a nice 1998 Gt with an excellent body( which is very rare here) but the water pump failed and it over heated so it was sold cheap. The only motor here for sale are 2001 Camry motors. I know both engines are roughly the same except the Camry has coils. My question is can I swap the 2001 Camry motor in? I need to keep it the same motor for autoX classing. Can I swap the distributer over along with my other accessories and make it work or does the celica head need to be swapped over to the Camry block? Any info would be great. Thanks

Actually a 3SGE swap is still allowed under the Street Prepared Class so it could be a worth while swap.
You could even go with a 3SGTE and still be able to compete in FSP

Would you want a turbo car (without antilag) in autoX? I would imagine the all motor 3SGE would be "idea" here...

It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it. Brace for the g's, and fast heel-toe work.
