Ok so just recently a pretty loud noise has started coming from the 'front drivers side wheel area'.
The noise is ONLY when I'm accelerating/on the gas at all. As soon as I take my foot aft the gas it stops (kind of a squealing/clunking/grinding noise). Thats why I'm thinking it could be the rear motor mount, if its bad then it would tweak a little and the axle wouldn't line up the way its supposed to right? I jacked the car up and no noises just spinning the wheel, bearing doesn't seem to have any play in it. All the other suspension parts a like brand new. Just trying to narrow it down, if its ONLY when I press on the gas, what else could it be? I took a pic of the front and rear mounts, and the rear looks a lot worse, but idk if that bad enough to make the noises. Rear - It looks a lot more worn down Front - looks in a lot better shape Found a poly mount wondering if it will work, idk how they replace the one now? like how does the rubber part come out? or is there a better mount option? http://speed-source.net/?wpsc-product=toyota-engine-mounts says for gt4, but the gt mounts should be the same right? QUOTE Just trying to narrow it down, if its ONLY when I press on the gas, what else could it be? I used to have a lot of issues with the stock mounts and the 3sgte. They just give out over time. A good test is to put the e-brake on, put the car in first, and slowly let the clutch out with the hood open. Youll see just how much the engine is moving around, and any clunks should show up. The inserts totally cured the problem for me, and I've had no issues since installing them. But if this doesn't fix your problem, check your axles and control arms. Those are pretty much the only other things that could cause the noise you're hearing. This post has been edited by lagos: Dec 7, 2013 - 1:38 PM -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
