Hey guys I’m creating a new thread over in the “My Project” section as it seems more fitting now..
3s swap.. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=75890 The car has kind of been ghost for a while, haven’t posted much of the recent work/progress I’ve done over the past year. I’ve been picking away at it between work and school.. so there will be lots of various pics! November 2012- Earlier in the year, July 2012 I had most of the body work done when my Comp clutch spit out a spring on me and I didn’t touch the car until November.. pics of the clutch I then replaced the clutch with a Clutchmasters 6puck unsprung setup.. At this point I haven’t driven the car daily since Oct. 2011 I just put the car in sealer so I could drive it around a bit before winter hit.. Slapped on the GTS wheels and put her on the road Then a short while later had the same issue that Jesse had with a snapped disk hub.. didn’t actually drop the tranny until March 2013 March 2013- Scrapped the crap out of the Flywheel too Did some homework and made a few phone calls and placed an order to Southbend and picked up a 8puck sprung setup with a F1 lightweight Flywheel.. the guys at Southbend were GREAT to work with, highly recommend them, John over in imports was very helpful in creating this setup.. ^^ The springs are incased very well and were rubber coated for what I’m told a longer life span and easier ingagement.. Spring April/May 2013 Rolled the front and rear fenders with hammer and dolly, came out really well with no fender warp like some rollers can do.. also did some more fine tuning with getting the ss3 kit mounted, making sure they all fit properly (don’t mind the tape lol) I chose not to drill holes in the body incase I wanted to take the skirts off at some point, will be using double sided tape but do have holes drilled underneath to support the bottom of the skirts. And that’s where she is as of right now.. this past weekend I finished up the Hiro rears and fiber glasses the mounting studs in and primed them up.. looking to start wet sanding either this week or next with 500 grit and shoot some color on her, pretty pumped! Trying to bring the thread back from the dead.. my photobucket hasn't been working on my home computer so I haven't been able to upload to my thread. that's why no progress updates on here
Some of you have been following some of my updates on the 6gc facebook page, but heres a couple pics I managed to download to photobucket I have a sh!t ton of photos through the build, Ill see what I can do to get some images. Some recent news of the car.. I installed front poly control arm bushings which are awesome, I feel so much more in control of the car now, steering response is great. Picked up a set of 15x7 rota slips that I will use with some type of drag radial, still in the market for a tire. Picked up a new AEM boost gauge, the Prosport i had was been acting funny since the dyno, which leads me to my next update.. Brought the car to the dyno and made 304whp 250wtq ~19psi on 93 pump gas with open cutout. Car made 237whp with full exhaust (3" bpipe to 2.5" bpipe back) 60whp difference with the open cutout vs. full exhaust!! Also have been doing some homework on a possible 5sgte build in the coming years. It is a setup I am very interested in, ATS racing and other mr2 guys have butt loads of information on the build. First step is picking up a 98+ block, I have a good lead on one now so time will tell! I will try my best to upload some new pics and those dyno charts as well! -------------------- st205 powered ss3 coupe
