So I read somewhere on this forum that you should use a honda cold air intake in place of the stock air filter.
Why not use the part made for the Celica? Does the Honda part get better performance?

to me the Honda kit just gives you enough pipe so that you can run it back down into the fender like the stock airbox does.
the Celica has a cold air intake from the factory really, up the little duct in the nose and into the factory airbox. but you'll get better airflow through a nice round pipe instead of the skinny little duct on the factory airbox.
they say the colder, denser air is much better than the hot air from the engine compartment.
but I'm not sure just how big of a difference it would make compared to the celica kit which would be drawing in hot air.
