I don't know how judging is done in other states, but this past weekend just totally sucked for my team and many others. We (and members of other teams whom we've spoken to) honestly feel that things were handled unfairly. A certain team swept almost all the categories, with cars that had nowhere as many mods as us.
http://www.nationalcustomcarassociation.co...c.php?p=857#857 If there's going to be favoritism and bias, then what's the whole point in showing in the PREDETERMINED show? HIN is supposed to be the BIGGEST import show, yet they go out and pull something like this? Yes, as it says in that post, it's TRUE that many people didn't get judged. And many of those people who didn't get judged DID win an award (i.e. a very nice Supra). Regardless if it's nice or not... I think it's only fair to everyone who paid to compete if EVERYONE was judged fairly. Thanks for letting me vent. -Ray PS: I'm CelicaOwner, in case you haven't figured out already. I know I told sphinx that I mentioned why in a previous thread... but for those that missed... here's why I didn't show or why I don't have current pics of my car... I was gonna take pics of my car the day I got it out of the body shop, BUT I had to catch a flight on Christmas eve. As a matter of fact, I missed my flight and had to fly stand-by. Fortunately, the following flight wasn't booked. When I got back home on the 26th, the first thing I was gonna do was put my stock springs back on because my car was WAY to low with Zephyr lip on. Since I couldn't find the allen bolt to remove the wheels, I decided that I would just drive EXTRA careful to the muffler shop to install my exhaust. The first shop that I was recommended to was closed. So I decided to back-track to a shop where I had my exhaust done before. I remember construction was being done in the area, but I couldn't recall which street. So I decided to try my luck with one street. That was a mistake on my part. About 200 yards away from the muffler shop, there were these steel metal plates on BOTH lanes. To make it worse, the location of the plates was on an incline. I was already driving 15 MPH and right when I noticed it... I thought to myself... "OH $HIT!!! There's no way I'm gonna clear this..." Even when I tried taking it in an angle... I still came in contact with the plate which knocked off half of my lip on the driver side. So yeah... funding has sucked because I've been helping people close to me financially and couldn't afford the repairs. When my car gets finished... you all will be the first to know. Sorry people... |
