just took my Distro cover off, as my ST has a bit of a judder when accelerating at lower revs and I;ve started to investigate...

Here's the rotor arm:




looks like a fair bit of corrosion. questions:

1. could this be the issue?

2. it needs replacing, right?

yep, electicity don't want to flow so easy through crusty stuff

probably need the cap as well , check the inside pins where the rotor makes contact with them

Appreciate it, my friend, I've ordered a new rotor arm. Will check the pins, but yeah, they're gonna be rough, aren't they. Plugs are fine and Ive looked into ordering Stock leads, no point going for NGK heavy duty, it's not a performance car, is it.

Should have her running smooth by the weekend.

will post pics of Distro cap pins and replace if necessary. Thanks for the link to the thread, I know what to look for now.

much nicer to work on a car that has a simple ignition system, I actually understand the process of ignition and combustion on a car like this!
