HI
anyone ever had any problems with the fuel release lever (down by the driver seat) mines gone really loose and is pulling to the right and not releasing the fuel cover had the carpet and everything up but I cant really get to it. Ive had the panels out in the boot to try and get to the cable from that end but cant find it anywhere. is there an easy way to fix. or has anyone made a mod for this so u could have a motorised release switch or something? |

to get at the lever mate you need to take the drivers seat out and lift the carpet, once your in there is a bolt holding it in place, once you undo that bolt the levers pull out from behind, (on my car this is what was broken) to get the cable out completly you need to take of the boot lining to show the bottom of the ariel (fuel release mechanism is behind it - pop the cable out of the holding at this end and then change your levers (as they fall apart)
good luck and only reason i know is i spent 2 hours yesterday....yes yesterday figuring all that out |

I am a female 6th generation ss3 owner and have never tried anything like this before. I have had a look and it's def the cable that's broken. I have the new one ready to install and I've looked online to find some kind of instructions and this seems like the most detailed. When I remove the seat and lift the carpet, after removing the old one, should the new one be easily routed back into place? I'd really appreciate any help I can get.. Thanks! |
