Hi guys,

I've decided that I'm keeping my Celica (st204) and will very likely be looking at doing an engine swap.

I was thinking a beams red top but then it seems like a 3sgte will be the easier option from what I've read.
I've read that the standard 5SFE manual tranny should handle it but I did see conflicting posts on this.

I'm planning on keeping it as a daily driver and just wanted something a bit quicker.

Has anyone in Sydney, Australia done this swap before and know a shop that has done the job before?

There's an ST205 half cut for sale at the moment but I won't have the cash for another few months, as I'm planning on installing coilovers and a few other things in the coming months before finding someone to do the swap.

Thanks

Whats your state laws/rules about engine swaps there? Sometimes this can be overlooked.

I'm sure it's fine, from what I remember reading, but I'll double check when I get home tonight.

I believe it has to do with engine capacity vs total vehicle weight, some stupid maths etc...
I don't seem to remember if power was even part of the equation.
