Hey 6gc,
Ever thought about doing a 3sgte swap but could not decide between a front clip or an engine set? What about a GT4 front end, AWD conversion, or right hand drive? Ever had concerns over buying parts from other countries and worried that they’d get damaged during shipping, or heck- not even work? Fear not. Up for sale is a rare Toyota Celica GT4. This is NOT a conversion; this is the 100% real deal. Imported in 2009, the car now resides in New Jersey where it is titled, registered, insured and awaiting a new home. This Celica GT4 is being sold as is with no warranties expressed or implied. Now, I know members will have questions and I am happy to answer those of serious buyers with cash in hand. Please do not turn this thread into a “HOW TO” for importing grey market vehicles, titling and insuring. I was not responsible for the initial import, just a buyer and now a seller. Please read the information below, I have done my best to describe the car and any potential issues. Mechanically, the car is sound and made the drive from Pennsylvania to my home without issue. The car is completely stock other than an aftermarket BOV, what I can assume is an aftermarket clutch kit based off pedal feel (unknown brand), and a HKS Hi Power catback exhaust. The clutch engages, disengages and the transmission shifts through all gears without grinds, pops, or other noises other than the rare throwout bearing whine. Possible front axle boot rip, making it difficult to judge potential leaks, however after having it parked in my driveway I can say with certainty that it does not leak oil or coolant as it sits. Factory AC condenser removed, however all lines and related hardware remain intact. This amazing engine would absolutely benefit from a complete tune up, as the history of maintenance is unknown other than the timing belt being replaced around 92,400KM. Current mileage: 159,741KM (~99,258 miles) Esthetically, the car was repainted factory Toyota black (202), from what I can guess was sometime after 2009 when it came upon our shores. The passenger side fender was replaced with a standard US fender and the stock side marker location poorly welded as seen in photos. Slight body damage to passenger door, and driver side fender, along with paint chipping on the passenger side A Pillar and rear hatch. Other minor dings, scrapes, and imperfections as well. The wheels, 18x8, are a bit rough and although they look the same are not. Whoever buys this car will also be provided with three additional beat up wheels/tires for FREE! Bad news though, needs a wheel key to get these babies off (any 7 spline should work). Everything electrical works as it should other than a faulty gas gauge- power windows, locks, power folding mirrors, Autometer mechanical boost gauge, etc. Even has a HKS turbo timer both wired and functional along with an old school Pioneer double DIN radio. Price? $12,500 OBO! Money is going towards funding a wedding and a home purchase. Thank you. Americo This post has been edited by Fate: Aug 5, 2014 - 11:35 AM -------------------- |
