So i have read many threads about gt-4 caliper upgrades but i dont have the money to spend on a pair of gt-4 calipers. I read a few articles on a completed 4runner 4 piston caliper on a gt, his setup included shaving off the inside of the caliper to accept the thicker gt (smaller) gt disc. I wanted to find a solution that was a little more simple and find rotors that will fit without redrilling. i got on the wheel fitment database and found all the cars that have 5x100 bolt patterns, after doing alot of looking i found the rotors i was looking for. After reading the information from the gt-4 upgrade, and how the mounting points on our knuckles limit the rotor dia to 300mm i wanted to get as close an i could to 300mm, noting that the 4 runner calipers are alomst identical to gt-4s, except for the fact that they require a smaller thickness disc of 22mm compared to the 32mm disc on the gt-4. So i came up with this

The S13WM Calipers mate with the 22mm nom thickness 4runner rotors, and a 17mm thickness pad after 11/95.
To make up the 2mm greater thickness rotor on the subaru i looked at pad options for the 4runner calipers. I found that the 8/95 to 10/95 pads for the s13wm rotors were 2 mm thinner and 3 mm wider than the after 11/95 pads, which makes up the difference in the subaru rotor and adapts to the 294.5 mm dia rotor so more pad surface!

The only modifications i will be looking at if everything goes like planned will to be tap the st knuckle, grind off 2 mm-4mm from the caliper mounting points (depending on whether 2mm will clear the ball joint or not, if it does not i will have to grind off 2 more mm (total of 4) and put a 2mm spacer behind the rotor) to clear it.

I will start this project soon, just thought i would share my food for thought, and suggestions, info are greatly appreciated!

My local juckyard has a set of s13wm caliper for 40$ so I going to pick them up Thursday and grab those rotors from my local parts store to see how they will line up! I will keep everyone posted!
