I currently have a 94 celica gt and the head is in perfectly good working order. I plan to port and polish and get a valve job done on a new head and swap them out. I currently drive my celica every day and can not take current head off and be without a car for a while. I found a 96 5sfe celica head and I want to make sure everything is compatible as in plug in play or do I need to swap this and that out. I'm new to the Toyota game and there isn't much information on it. I've looked for few days now. I'm used to Hondas and Toyotas are much different.

If you're planning to get a cam grind while you're reworking the head then you can wake the 5s up a bit. For that matter the heads on most of them are quite the same. There are some minor differences if you get one from a 98+ Camry but the 94-99 Celica 5s is the same motor. There may be some differences in the way the EGR is set up on some of them.
