just wondering what everyones thoughts are on creating a North American Club 6GC. obviously the idea of this would be to take the organization of the 6gc community up a notch, creating more sanctionized meets and events, as well as getting club gear made up, such as t-shirts hats decals and such. The other reason to do this is try to increase involvement in the community, and possably get paying vendors and club sponsors. possably a newsletter or other periodic articles would be sent out. its also a way to more personalize the site, put more of a face to the screenname and the car. the down side is there would be periodic fees or dues, maybe annually or bi-annually, of course they wouldnt be anything outragious. *note: the site would continue to be free, the only cost would be to join the club itself.
please give me an honest opinion. frankly theres no point in doing this if you were not going to attend the meets or utilize the sponsors, usually the sponsor discounts are fairly minimal, but the customer service and personalization of the buying experience is much better. IE: with the 6gc sideskirt group buy im doing right now, vis is kinda of playing sean off saying we'll get your order for you soon whenever he talks to them like they are in no rush to get our order for us, or they just dont have them in stock and are waiting for more to arrive. in general they really dont have much stock for the 6gc besides the zephyr and invader kits a few CF hoods and a few sets of those fenders. in contrast when sean went to place my order for my Border kit for my car, they said they would get on it right away. if 6gc owners were to purchase things on a more consistant basis from the same companies like vis or other manufacturers/vendors, they would be more inclined to carry a larger stock of 6gc parts so the turn around time on orders would be alot quicker. ive talked to coomer about it in the past, basically hes just very busy, and this is a very large job for us to do, and we really have no idea yet how it would be spearheaded and what direction we'd want to take with it, or who would be the organizers of something like this (please dont volenteer yet, were just tryin to get a feel for how much everyone would be willing to do this ![]() thanks guys! thats just kinda my thought on the whole thing. lemme know what you think. -------------------- ![]() Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them all No but I don't buy it Like anything you do, as anyone you are Cause I'm... That seems to cover a lot. Any chance we could get a chat session going soon to try and get a lot of these issues covered fast?
Regions.. Probably 4 or five. Northwest, Southwest, New England, Southeast, and Midwest? I'd like to say that it's unlikely the Northwest will be a very populated region- but I can't see sticking them into the Southwest due to the fact that all the meets would probably be around the southwest- and if we stuck the northwest in with with the southwest, they'd get screwed over with the meets. The physical distance to the meets is going to be a big issue. I think rotating the meets between big cities is the best way to do it. Say, meet in Los Vegas, then a meet in LA, then a meet in SD, then a meet in Salt Lake.. or something? Heads of the region should be simple- people in the region vote during a certain time period (that way there's no.. waiting for that last member to vote). As for the nation head- there might not need to be one. Maybe a "chairman" or something out of the region heads if it doesn't involve much extra work. Funds divided? Simple. Regional funds go to regional, minus a % that goes to national. Funds are then distributed by a request, permission, paid, reimbursement process. For instance, if I'm going to be the Southwest 6gc Club representative at a show here in LA and we want the banner out here, but it's stuck in LV. If no one in the club is making the LV-->LA trip, then it needs to be shipped. LV member who has the banner requests permission to ship the banner with club funds (estimating around 7.00)- recieves permission, sends the banner, gets reimbursed. I know the whole requesting permission thing can turn into a pain sometimes, but it shouldn't be so bad with a small organization. Each region head is also going to have to have a small team- maybe even as small as the head and one other person. If I was a regional head, I wouldn't want to deal with finances at the same time you know? Uhh, had more, forgot ![]() --Sean |
