I currently have a 94 celica gt and the head is in perfectly good working order. I plan to port and polish and get a valve job done on a new head and swap them out. I currently drive my celica every day and can not take current head off and be without a car for a while. I found a 96 5sfe celica head and I want to make sure everything is compatible as in plug in play or do I need to swap this and that out. I'm new to the Toyota game and there isn't much information on it. I've looked for few days now. I'm used to Hondas and Toyotas are much different.

For what it cost to get a hold of a BEAMS these days I wouldn't bother with the 5S. Though if you really want to might as well go all out, if going with larger cams shave the head to regain static compression. Find someone that can do a nice three angle valve job, etc... The one thing the 5S has going for it is that it makes a decent amount of torque for what it is. I think Tigawoods probably has one of the more built 5S's, so give his project thread a look.
