Will the caldina map sensor for flawlessly with a 3rd gen 3s?
i know the gen 2 map sensors work, and i have one, but i have read that they mess up the fuel and timing maps. Also My boss has a gen 2 map sensor in his swap and he's been running rich since the swap was done, which is assuring me that the engine wont run 100% with 2 bar map sensors.
can someone confirm that 2 bar maps are the problem?
and can someone tell me if the 4th gen one will work and is it plug and play? One is on ebay for a very good price

I started with what I know to do, I swap engine into my car, I knew it was too much work to make it a AWD. I kept it FWD. Went to take a crack at doing the wiring conversion. Than, I realize, shoot, this is out of my league.

Are we talking about the same thing? You're asking if a gen 4 caldina 3sgte map sensor will work with a gen 3 3sgte?

You also say you have a gen 2 3sgte map sensor??? The gen 2 uses a maf to control fuel...

Toyota upgraded to a map based efi system starting with the gen 3. The only thing I can think of is a gen 2 map sensor being used for a stock boost gauge.

the gen 2 engines have a map sensor. Many people here are using them. Idk what they are used for on the gen 2 engines but they definitely work on 3rd gen engines. I know personally because my boss has a 5th gen alltrac one on his swap. I own an mr2 map sensor. (Turbo pressure assy.) Part number 89420-17030

**edit- im not saying they don't have mafs, because they do. But they have maps too**
