I have a 1995 5S motor that I put in a 1996 GT convert. Everything is hooked up but engine is not turning over. Its getting fuel but seems like its not getting spark. I noticed the 95 motor has a different distributor than the 96. The 96 has a 5th wire that connects a coil module located on the firewall but the 95 motor does not have a 5th wire. Not sure if that makes a difference.
1995: 1996: Thoughts? What could I have missed? http://s922.photobucket.com/user/docspeed1...rt=6&page=0 |

Thank you for the quick posts. I forgot about that OBDI vs OBDII thing. Good catch.
96 engine: 95 engine: Ok, transferring over any OBDII specific parts.... 1. distributors - I guess I can just switch them? I thought this would be a quick swap.... The motor slid in with no trouble. Mr. Murphy and his messed up law!!! This post has been edited by speed-CCNP: Jul 15, 2015 - 7:34 AM |
