Hey guys, I am doing a manual swap in my 95 gt convertible. I now have my parts car, but I am very stressed out trying to decide what clutch to get. I wi be boosting it as well, around 8 psi. Any thoughts on what clutch kit to get for my soon to be 5sfte??? I've been looking at the stage 2 clutch kits on ebay, (xtr, ufc, ppc, fx, emc) these are all around $100, and say the can handle about 268 hp, 248 lbs of torque.
I've seen ppl online saying ebay clutches are junk, n others saying they are not....I would appreciate any input or experiences anyone has had. I've also looked a bit into Exedy, ACT, and Competition Clutch. Any input on these as well? Are they worth the extra $300?? I will be driving my car around town, not any race tracks. I dont want it too gabby to where it's annoying to drive in stop n go traffic, but I don't want it slipping at all under boost when I get on it. Please anyone's input, I'm driving myself nuts trying to decide!! |

I saw in the dyno results page, and it seemed that some people with similar set ups were pushing 250-270 lbs at the wheels. Are they doing something more, or should I expect high torque results? Also the 225 lbs capacity is at the crank. I have now seen the have a stage 3 daily, which is more for daily drive, but has a 300 lb capacity. I spoke with Dave at Southbend, and he pointed me towards this one, because I was not sure what to expect for torque results. This one sounds good, but is $250 more!! And I don't want to spend that if I don't need to. What kind of torque should I expect with my projected set up????

Thats the same setup I had before i went to V6. the stage 2 will be fine -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo
