Hi all, a rare opportunity has presented itself with the possibility to get the Kaaz Front and Center LSD combo set reproduced.

The primary knowledge discussion is on Alltrac.net here:
http://www.alltrac.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=51064

If you seriously interested, a google docs spreadsheet has been started to capture interest from the around the world:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1M2T...d=0&vpid=A1

Please note, this does require a decent amount of money to buy and a gearbox rebuild to install. Costs and production have not been confirmed, but if you are asked to front money, then you have to basically produce the $ on demand. Of note, production may be 5-6 months away, so there is time for saving..

Add your name and let us know your level of interest from the options in the spreadsheet smile.gif

If you know of anyone or another group with members or people who may be interested, feel free to copy and post this across. The more this opportunity is communicated, the better chance we have of getting something done.

Cheers, Dave

In my endless quest for everything Celica GT4 I have gotten far enough with KAAZ to at least reply to me and entertain the idea of a limited production run. KAAZ has confirmed that they did produce the TRD unit we all lust after.

If it became a reality, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It's a shame our only chance for a front/center LSD hinges on one company when the majority of the performance AWD world has multiple options and likely more affordable too.

No pricing yet as I am dealing directly with KAAZ USA who is waiting on a response from Japan.

But lets all use our better judgement. I'm guessing a minimum of $3-$4k USD for the set.

I need a serious, real world number! Who is willing to purchase this set if it became available again?

Kaaz has replied to Eric as well!

From rep at KAAZ

" 1. I have to guestimate on the pricing based on the past special orders we have done. Guessing on
the high side, the front / center combo unit will probably cost about $2500~$3200. Looking at the
schematic I have, the front unit is simple design and the center unit gets all the plates inside like
other Kaaz unit. Kaaz does own the patent to this unique design. I was told by the designer, that
this kit allows the front diff to lock up only when necessary. So the car will be two wheel drive and
when necessary it becomes AWD.
2. HP rating: Can’t guarantee anything but I would say about double the stock HP.
3. Document I have is so light and it is hard to read. Looks like front is 1.5 and center is a 2 way.
We can figure this out if Kaaz gives ok on this project.
4. If Kaaz does produce this kit, service parts will be available for several years. Most internal
components used are identical to other models (clutch plates, cams, pinion gears etc…). The only
thing that will be unique to this kit will be the casing for the front and center. Generally Kaaz do
not supply the casing as parts (only internal pieces are normally offered as parts).
5. Time frame: Normally design from scratch to actual product release will take about 5~6 months.
If they were to reproduce this kit, I am sure they will do some redesigning to make it stronger
than the old design."
