Well today I noticed my inner shaft seal is seeping as well as the rear main seal is seeping. I think it is time to replace the clutch as well.
1. Any how to or removing the manual transmission on 7AFE engine? 2. Should I replace with OEM or after market? 3. IF aftermarket which brand? Thanks in advance. Engine is 7AFE, Car is 1996 ST hatchback. This post has been edited by msk59: Dec 20, 2015 - 12:25 AM |

Thank You. Yes once I get in, it will be done completely and correctly. I will get the complete clutch kit. I like working on projects. Right now I am collecting info and reading the Service Manual. Service manual sends you back and forth on removing different items so I am outlining the steps I need to take and then just follow those. So far the car is 99% rust free so not anticipating any issues. After reading up on the half shaft (axle) removal, (both were replaced within the last two years) I don't anticipate any resistance there. The 'tricks of the trade' is what I like to learn and that is where experience from you all is very critical as every experience is different so this information comes in handy when working on the project like this.
Currently, I installed the eBay headers and the downpipe is about 3 inches short. Cheela had warned me about that so now I found a place where I can get a extension pipe to be welded so the downpipe can be bolted to the CAT. Thank You again.
