Hello I'm in the process of rebuilding the 1mz motor off a 1999 solara for my celica project and I was looking to replace the cams with 3mz cams and I was wondering if this would make a difference? I have herd 2mz cams work but I'm not sure what model Toyota that engine is in.

yes, longer lift and duration, better overlap, higher top end.
since i put a 1MZ in my car to get it passed the BAR, i can tell a huge difference in the power band. the 3MZ had much more top end -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo
