I got a spare parts Celica with a 100k 7A-FE engine in it. It was running fine, but I figured I'd rebuild it over the winter -- both so I had a fresh engine to drop in when spring comes to replace my still-running 250k engine, and for the experience. I had the entire thing spec-checked, and everything is still within spec and doesn't look too worn at all (yay!) Got the head milled, cylinders very lightly honed, valve seals tested good, and everything cleaned up. So, I ordered the DNJ gasket set from RockAuto, and I have this mostly together. However, there are still some parts I just cannot figure out! Please see the linked photo for reference; sorry the image host turned it on its' side.
http://i.imgur.com/TA2nqsR.jpg 1.) ?? 2.) Not sure, same size and same thickness as the distributor o-ring 3.) Not sure, flexible/no metal center 4.) Not sure, slightly larger than 5 5.) Not sure but I believe for fuel injector-fuel rail connection 6.) Not sure but I believe for fuel-injector tips 7.) Not sure, same style as exhaust camshaft oil seal (near the cam gears) but a bit smaller, has metal in it Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated! Edit: I don't know why this **** won't let me post any sort of reply, but here's an update. Okay, so far we have: 1.) ! - Exhaust gaskets. Winner! 2.) ? - It looks just like the one on the distributor but a different color. I already put one on the distributor. 3.) ~ - Possibly thermostat gasket? 4.) ~ - I suspect somewhere on the fuel rail. 5.) ! - Must be on the injectors. 6.) ! - Winner, valve cover grommets 7.) ~ - Looks and built like the one that goes between the exhaust cam inside the engine and the exhaust cam sprocket; but a bit smaller. Update: It appears to fit right over the crank; I think it's an oil pump seal. So, still need 2 and 7, possibly 4 and 3. Thanks for your help so far guys!
