It seems as though the Scion brand has come to an end. I can't say I'm surprised. I've never been too crazy about any of their cars and sales are pitifully low. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. Saw the video.
Shall we look at Lexus sports car history. Say. No more IS-F, LFA, RC-F, upcoming LC500 which seems to have evolved from a FT-1. So no matter what like the man said every sport car will be badged as Lexus end of story. The LC500 just seems like a competition for the GTR and NSX being released end of this year. And Lexus needs to shut up about their 306hp 2GR-FSE that came out 11 years ago. Seriously I hear it in all their radio commercials. You couldn't up the power while retaining better MPG? Oh that's right we slapped an extra 200lbs to our 3rd gen IS, but it handles better... You want quality ha. My auto professor told me all wiring harness for Toyota 2016 and up a will be all white with color coated tips before each connector pin. Ha just to save money but so making it a nightmare to work on.. So no matter what like the man said every sport car will be badged as Lexus end of story. The LC500 just seems like a competition for the GTR and NSX being released end of this year. The FR-S wasn't a Lexus, neither was SF-R concept. At this point I have this feeling that Toyota had preplanned the demise of the Scion to coincide with their attempt to reinvent the brand with new life in America, especially after witnessing the most successful year in America last year and witnessing the continually fall of Scion in sales. This is why the SF-R looked so damn production ready, because they are going to try to fill the Scion tC sized hole in the lineup with a smaller sporty car that is more geared towards cruising than all out canyon carving. I think if you stretch out and widen the SF-R and put either a 1.5 turbo or a 2 liter straight 4 (i'd rather have this than an inline), curve the ass a little more, you have a Celica. The true sports cars will most likely be Lexus, but I still think there is room for a sporty grand tourer. And Lexus needs to shut up about their 306hp 2GR-FSE that came out 11 years ago. Ha just to save money but so making it a nightmare to work on.. Just saw this directly after posting. That is unreal they would do that to the wiring harness. I can only imagine being home sick for training day on the new harness and showing up to work to plug in the harness and being all like "wtf?" lol Ok Ok one last edit: So doing some research, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Motorsport_GmbH these guys are the people responsible for our beloved gt-fours. SINCE they have already completed the SF-R as a racing concept... is it so hard to see that Toyota is already giving hints that it MAY it MAY it MAY be considering the SF-R to compete in the same market that the GAZOO guys competed in all those years ago?
