Hello,

I've got serious problem with my Celica ST202 1999, 3S-GE engine with JDM instead of EU ECU, removed EGR.
When the engine is cold, just after start I have to push the gas for some seconds - if don't, engine will die.
When the engine is hot, and I reach traffic lights or have to stop I have to push the gas againt, because rpm will fall near to zero and sometimes the engine dies again.
When I would like to check my car for errors, in test mode, when the engine is running, few seconds after connecting TE1 and E1 terminals my engine dies (I don't touch gas nor do anything else).

What have been checked:
- ECU has been replaced again to EU
- throttle body has been removed and cleaned
- IAC has been removed and cleaned, inspected with manual
- TPS - inspected with manual
- temperature sensor from airbox - inspected with manual
- spark plugs changed about 20000km ago
- ignition - set with light probe
- all wirings with underpressured air (sorry, i don't know exact english word)

and the problem still isn't gone.

My clues:
- oxygen sensor?
- car catalyst?
- distributor?

I would be glad If anyone has simillar problem and know the solution.

Greetings

When did you notice it started doing this? Just suddenly or over time, it progressed and got worse? Any modifications? Can we see a photo of the engine bay or a video?

How many km's on it? Does it have Climate control or just air conditioning? Does using AC affect it in any way?

MAP sensor plugged up & no vacuum leaks? Vacuum lines are plugged up. There are 2, one slim hose for the VSV for ACIS, the other larger is for the idle, which are before the TB.

The problem has gone :-)

Some time ago mechanics set my timing belt wrong, and because of old spark plugs and other things I haven't notice it in the beginning. Few weeks ago problem get bigger (I don't know why..) as I wrote in my first post.

After cleaning throttle body, IAS, checking Vaccum lines (for VSV too), another mechanic checked the exhaust gases and noticed wrong AFR (about 12). Then, step by step he checked timing belt, set it right way and now my celica runs as brand new one :-)

Thank you for your suggestions with VSV - I removed EGR, but for other users it might be useful info.
