***The Group Buy is now closed***
FUNKED is a UK company that has begun producing fiberglass copies of some great items for the 6th gen along with some original items like wider front and rear fenders (rears are still in development.) Here is a small list of what is in stock at the moment for those of you who dont have a facebook to look at his gallery. I can provide you with some pictures and prices upon request if you are seriously interested. ************************************************************
************************************************************ Quote from Edd Hunt from FUNKED about the savings in combined shipping "My largest box is 180 x 70 x 60cm (70in x 27.5in x 23.6in), weight is not the issue the price is expensive because of size, so the more I can fit in the box the better. In one of these boxes I can normally fit a couple of full bumpers, couple of sets of sideskirts or front and rear lips, plus loads of smaller parts like spats, spoilers and riser blocks etc. On average probably 6-8 items depending on what they are and how they can be packed. I would estimate this size box will cost around £350 ($511), but seeing as just sending a single bumper costs around £300 ($438) you can appreciate the price difference when divided by 6-8 items" This can also open up a discussion on how to evenly distribute the shipping costs between everyone and who the bulk package is going to. PM me or Post if you are seriously interested and in what item(s) and I will add you to the list. *********************************************** SHIPPING DISCUSSION (copied from later post in thread) Please please throw any ideas or helpful input!!! Shipping from UK to US: Cost: New estimated TOTAL shipping price from the UK should be around $700 ***** While we await an exact shipping quote I am accepting part payments, and then once I split up the shipping quote I will be accepting UK-US shipping payments. I will then be using a company called Transferwise as suggested by Edd. This is best way to lessen the International exchange rate fees and make the process less convoluted by having money converted once rather than 10 times by each buyer. ****** Edd and I will be working together to try and figure out how to fairly split the shipping costs for people who are only getting small items vs large item buyers. Recipient: I can have the package delivered to my local post office or like courier service (UPS/Fedex/DHL) and pick it up from their facility as to prevent any sort of odd variable of handler damage or theft that might occur if having it delivered to my house. Since I will be getting the package that would mean I would not have to pay for more shipping to my residence as everyone else will have to do, to even this out or make it more fair I can increase my shipping charge from the UK, how much that will be we can figure out along the way Damage: Upon receiving the package I will meticulously inspect every item for any damage I believe to have been caused during its shipment and notify the affected buyer and Edd of the issue and will take steps on resolving the problem. Shipping within the US: Cost: At this moment I only have a few large boxes, I can get a bunch more from a local bodyshop to use to ship out the larger items. I am going to grab some of the dimensions of the larger items and start to grab some estimates for shipping. I can use a specific courier service at each persons request (USPS/Fedex/UPS) along with any desirable insurance additives. USPS will probably be the cheapest for the smaller items but I know you all have experienced some bad times with them in the past as I have too. I believe if I pack the items smartly everything should remain intact. Shipping payments will be made to me prior to shipping. ******* I have done up a couple UPS estimates, one from me to Texas and from me to California. I used the minimum estimated dimensions for a person ordering lips and skirts (a custom tight fitting box that I would have to make) and the figure seems to be around $200 for ground shipping from me to CA and about $180 from me to Texas. I figure you can get a rough idea of where it will be to you based on those figures for people ordering large items. Once I actually get the shipment I will be able to work with the items and box them as small and safely as possible to whittle down that cost. Smaller items will be significantly cheaper. I still have to figure out the cost for fenders and what size box it would use but i'd imagine it to be around the same $200 figure. ******* Damage: Im not sure what actions to take in this situation and any suggestions would be appreciated.
