Hello this is my first post so if i posted this in wrong spot please let me know. I have a 98 gt convertible and the right top latch broke that holds it down a week later the other side went. just double checking that these will fix the problem. i believe they failed due to really bad potholes where i live. the road are REALLY bad lot of stress on the latches maybe. if anyone has any input if this has happened to them that would be great an should be faily easy to swap out i hope.

What part broke? If it was the hooked arm itself I've seen the same design on a few other cars from the 90's, Mazda's too I think as well as the 90's Capri. Seems like a simple enough part to fabricate with a torch and a vise. The rest of the mechanism seems pretty beefy, I'd have to suspect either it's just age fatigue or the top isn't lined up right and the latch is just being used to force it down into place.
