did anyone ever try the 3sfe intake manifold on the 5sfe? I heard its bigger and flows better.

The intake manifold you need is a JDM 3sfe one. There is also a custom one that itzits makes. You can find him on the MR2 boards.

2 runner manifolds don't necesarily flow better than single runners. It all depends on the set-up. Also... the engine can only intake so much... so a larger throttle body won't necesarily add more power. It will have potential for more power, assuming the stock manifolds are restrictive as crap... but as far as a bolt-on performance modification... I don't see any with stock compression/internals/ and induction. That's my opinion on the matter.
