Hello everyone, first post, love the site I am wondering how I would go about painting the interior panels a nice red color as this user has. I'm mostly concerned with painting the panel with the radio which I do know how to remove just not sure of the best way to make it a cool red color

The easiest and cheapest thing to do would be to use a paint for plastics like Krylon Fusion. As far as prepping goes you'll want to wash the pieces with some dish soap or general purpose degreaser as it'll remove the years of interior protectants that'll mess up the paint adhering, then lightly wet-sand with some 800-1,000 grit sandpaper and wash again with soap/degreaser and let them dry before painting. Krylon says you don't have to sand, but I find the light sanding to knock the sheen off helps by definitively removing all protectants as well as giving a fresher and rougher surface for the paint to grab.
