I just got a new muffler yesterday. One of those huge N1 stlye stainless mufflers that makes a lot of noise. I like it a lot, but i noticed once i got home that it appeared to be smoking, like cars do when theyre burning oil and there was some oily residue in the muffler. I checked for it today at school and the smoking has stopped. Is this normal for new mufflers or should I check into it more?
Also should i take off my catalytic converter? How much louder will that make it? I have heard of ppl doing this but i dont know if its a good idea or not. This post has been edited by subsolo_21: Mar 23, 2004 - 1:11 PM |

what color is the smoke? if it is blue you have problems... if not its probably just condensate in the piping, its stuff that is usually there, but you dont notice because your stock muffler isnt as free flowing, and because the new one is so clean, its more previlant.
