Does anyone know the protocol 6th Gen Celica's use? I bought a cheap OBD to Bluetooth dongle and it powers on in my '99 liftback but none of the apps I try to use it with will connect to the engine. After some research I've came to the conclusion that the cheap dongle doesn't have the right hardware for my car's protocol. I think I'll try buying a different one I just need to know what protocol I should look for.

This is the dongle I bought and these are the protocols it supports
.SAE J1850 PWM(41.6Kbaud).
.SAE J1850 VPW(10.4Kbaud).
.ISO9141-2(5 baud init,10.4Kbaud).
.ISO14230-4 KWP(5 baud init,10.4 Kbaud).
.ISO14230-4 KWP(fast init,10.4 Kbaud).
.ISO15765-4 CAN(11bit ID,500 Kbaud).
.ISO15765-4 CAN(29bit ID,500 Kbaud).
.ISO15765-4 CAN(11bit ID,250 Kbaud).
.ISO15765-4 CAN(29bit ID,250 Kbaud).
.SAE J1939 CAN(29bit ID,250*Kbaud).
.USER1 CAN(11*bit ID,125*Kbaud).
.USER2 CAN(11*bit ID,50*kbaud).

It connected fine in a Chevy Prism I tried it in but wouldn't work in my friend's Honda Civic either
