Does anyone know how long it would take for the rubber to dry out or deteriorate due to storage?
I know it would largely depends on storage method and environment, but I'm just looking for a ballpark figure.

I'm about to buy an uninstalled motor mount that I believe was manufactured in 2004.

FWIW ten years is the maximum shelf life for tires stored in a dark climate controlled area. The rubber in engine mounts would be harder than tires so they should have a longer shelf life, so long as it was stored properly and it looks to be in good shape you should be ok. At any rate I think I might trust an old o.e. mount more than a new cheap aftermarket one.

Maybe you could call a dealer parts counter and ask them?

Good suggestion, I'll do that before work.

That's my thought process behind this. And I'm limited in options because the driver side 7A mount is discontinued. I'm stuck finding new OEM parts on eBay that people forgot they had laugh.gif
