So I'm gonna be doing some work to my st205 swapped Celica over the winter and I'm wondering how much I'd be spending to make 300hp reliably (I'm running a fwd setup). Can this be done on the stock turbo? I've heard they're unstable over 18psi. And would 300fwhp be attainable with the stock fuel system? I'm likely gonna upgrade to a fuel cell since my gas tank is leaking so I'll probably have to run a different fuel pump anyways. I'm also considering a mild cam to help up the power as well. I'm thinking about going with an aftermarket ecu as well but I imagine that would set me back quite a bit money wise. Any input would be much appreciated, I'd like to see what all you 3sgte guys are running on your builds! Thanks

Getting 300hp is easy.
Main difficulty is making it reliable for how long? Do you want weeks? Years? Decades? All these will require different levels of supporting mods. If you want most reliability with most overhead for future upgrades, start with programmable aftermarket standalone EFI system. Megasquirt is great. I like MoTeC or Electromotive TEC myself. |
