So...first post, total noob Q, but I just bought the car, so please cut me some slack.
I have just purchased an imported '95 JDM GT4, about 175Kkm on the clock, and shifting between gears feels really vague. It may be that I just haven't driven it enough yet to get smooth and comfortable with the action, but do the bushings or bearings in the stick-base wear out? Is it something that requires a lot of digging? I'm a good and competent mech on motorcycles, but don't have much car-work experience outside normal upkeep. Any info would be appreciated. |

could be a variety of things. Check shift cables, bushings, clutch pedal etc to rule out quick simple things. With these old JDM cars you never what you'll get. If it's not any of those then you're probably looking at a slipping clutch and changing that isn't too fun on the GT4s.
