does anyone know how much shorter the TRD short shifter is then the stock?

Some people cut the oem shifter in three places. They move the piece with the pivot point to a higher position.
[=o=][==][=O <----the first piece is the one with the pivot. The last is the shifter. [==][=o=][=O <-----they weld it back with the pivot at a higher location. I know it sucks but its the basic idea. EDIT: Atleast that was what i was told.
