Well I finally went out and bought myself a new car with the insurance money from my totalled Celica ($5000). After shopping around for a few days I found a really nice '95 del Sol Si with under 90,000 miles that was painted red. I got it for $3500 and now I have $1500 to spend on the car. I'll get some pics up in a few days after I get my camera back from my friend.
Only bad thing is that the car has a giant spoiler on the back but I'll have that off by the time I get the camera back. See you guys, I enjoyed my time here and even though I didn't get another Celica, I still might lurk around here. Oh yes, and I do plan on swapping the del Sol engine to a bigger one so that I can actually get a decently fast car. |

i do know about the car.... my mom has a 95 del sol SI... and it's around as fast/slow as a 1990 corolla sr5 with a 4a-fe.... trust me, i've driven BOTH several times..... plus, my neighbor back home has a 92 gsr and was the one who told me about the weight issue.... and seeing how he's been in the import scene and 99% into honda's & b series motors since he bought the car (in 1991), i would say he knows what he's talking about...... but my 4a-ge now is much quicker than her del sol..... the del sol does handle well... which is why i said "it handles like a honda"..... they have good factory suspension..... and i'm not going off.... lol... if you see it as such then you're reading too much into it |
