First, has any one done this, or do they just go right to the 3s-gte?? also, gt tranny will bolt right up, but i was told, or read that it wont handle that much power?? its only 177 hp, an 150 trq? is that to the wheel or crank? also what else would i need besides gt engine mounts?? Thanks

Might be different between the two... cause turbo + piping might mean the placement of some accesories are different... however, accesories should all be similar if not the same. Anyways... use the 4th Gen's parts. The 4th gen (86-89) Celica GT-S's came with a variant of the 3SGE... that and later models should have the same belts and accesories... As for the tranny... It should hold... but why use that when you can have a stronger, better geared 3SGE tranny? As for LSD and clutches... the 3SGE flywheels might have been of a different size of the 5SFE... so I'm not sure if a clutch is interchangeable. As for LSD... if you want that... it'll be either aftermarket... or a stock LSD tranny that came on some of the 93+ MR2 turbos, and some JDM Celica SS2's and SS3's... As for crazy power... you're mistaken if you're trying to make this some sort of high horsepower/torque drag racing engine. It won't make a whole lot of power w/o a LOT of serious modifications... and with an n/a platform... there will be sacrifices. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
