First, has any one done this, or do they just go right to the 3s-gte?? also, gt tranny will bolt right up, but i was told, or read that it wont handle that much power?? its only 177 hp, an 150 trq? is that to the wheel or crank? also what else would i need besides gt engine mounts?? Thanks

Well this discussion is really difficult to follow, so lets sum it up a bit.
1. The 3S-GE engine is more powerful (170ish bhp) but, that kind of power is not really insane as described by someone. 2. The 3SGE swap makes a lot of sense and the engine is very- but very- reliable. My Curren never gave me any probs in the 5 years of abuse that i have it. (oh and its a JDM, so it was abused for 3 years before i got it with 100k km on the clock) 3. The engine block is the same. My advice: get the clip so you have everything. As for clips, you can get them easily but since the engine is not high power it doesn't make any sense in importing such clips in the states but there are millions of used or damaged 6gCelis around the world especially in NZ and Australia. The problem that could arise is with emmissions. |
