I bought some JDM Rear-view mirrors off ebay and they supposivly came off a 96 celica so no problems bolting on. I know this cause they are already on my car. Looks funny too, red mirrors on a black car, very mexican of me.
Anyways, i'm having trouble getting all the wires hooked up and i was wondering if anyone has installed some themselves or had them installed and could tell me what the extra wires that don't match up with the controller go.

Thanks
Joel

Yea it's the motorized mirrors.
Even with the extra wires clipped does your mirror fold in when you push the fold button or do you even have that?

Which unit has more wires, in my case:
Old unit - 7 wires, red,green,brown,blue,black,yellow,light green
Later unit- 5 wires, all above except yellow and light green
The later replacement unit has additional "on board" diodes which make redundant the extra 2 wires that the older unit had.
Wiring the new unit , colour to colour with the chopped
old connector (remember you want the connector to fit the
socket in your door)should still allow all the functions to work- mirror movement / folding etc. If there are more than
2 wires spare after colour matching chances are you have
another spec mirror unit and you shouldn't follow my advice.
I think off memory the spare wires are yellow and light green,
hit me with a reply if this sounds right to you,

Jon
