I have an oil pressure gauge, and a water tempurature gauge, both mechanical, and i was wondering exactly how you install them. For the oil pressure, from what i read and searched, i find the sending unit, and use a t-fitting off of it. Where exactly is this? ive read that it is near the exhaust manifold (5SFE) but im not sure exactly. Also, where do i run the water temp sensor to?
Thanks -mike Edit: another Q, with the oil pressure line, it says to slide the hex nut on the nylon tubing, then a ferrule, and then tighten the nut onto the engine fitting... it seems like the tubing would want to just slide out (especially if it is under pressure) will tightening down the nut keep the tubing secure to the fitting? i'd have to look for it to find it... but on an A series motor it's located on the exhaust side (when looking at exhaust side) on the left.... right in the middle of the block..... the oil sensor is roundish in shape and goes into what i believe is a 1/4" hole
