Lately i am thinking of selling my 1998 GT4 because i am an accountant and i am supposed to drive a more conservative car. well not really, but as i am getting older i may want something in the 4dr category. The thing is that due to import duties I cannot really get any car that has an engine size more than 2.2 L. The only option that i like is the Altezza (IS 200). I really like the RX300 but due to engine size thats out of the question.
What do you think? Is the GT4 a keeper? Should i even bother trying to see if there is something out there for me? btw, there is no focking way i am leaving the Toyota family. |

Yea i was planning to sell my curren but no luck so far. The reason that i am even considering this is that i may be able to sell the GT4 for about $5,000 more than it cost me. But nothing sure so far.
and btw I can easily get another used GT4 for a lot less but thats not really an issue. I really believe that there is nothing better than the GT4 but sometimes you just wonder what's out there. The only think i could trade it in for is the new RX300. I can get a Toyota version of it brand new but iwth 2wd and a 2.3L engine. The problem why i havent already got it is that there is additional import duty of about $30,000 because the engine is 0.1L more Import duty for a 2.2L car is about $10k import duty for a 2.3L car is about $40k doesnt this suck. Actually up to 2250 cc is $5 of import duty per cc. for larger engines its $16 per cc. |
