well for the past week i had been looking to smog my car only to face shops shaking their head. no place wanted to even touch my car after i popped the hood.
so...i had to take it off. 3 hours later it was back to stock and i was ready to get it smog checked. it barely passed cuz the emissions were 61/41 and the max is 61/45. passed smog, then another 2 hours later, got that turbo back on. also replaced oil filter with fram X2 (7000 miles+ duty cycle) -------------------- |

Your initial response was confusing. Try the search function. It will give you the info you need on turbocharging the 7AFE... On Topic: I think I would've bribed someone to have my car pass smog if need be. Thankfully, I live in Louisiana where the "emissions test" is a pressure test on the gas cap. State inspectors here are required to give a visual inspecition under the hood, which I suppose could cause someone to fail. How much are smog tests out in CA? I just passed inspection Monday. I've been going to the same place for inspections since I've driven any car, and have never had trouble with the Celica. Guy looked under the hood and saw my engine, asked me a couple things about it, and let me go. This year, he didn't open the hood at all, just checked a few things inside the car and passed me. I'm glad I don't live in a more strict state. |
