I have a 97 ST Celica, which has the 1.8 7AFE engine.

I'm looking for advice from person(s) who have attempted to nos their 7AFE. I know I must upgrade my exhaust and intake as a bare minimum, but I want to go a step further in strengthening this weak block. I'm looking to replace the pistons and rings with better ones and maybe the header as well. I've read multiple articles on the 7A-GE conversion for the header, and I have mixed feelings about it.

If anyone has personally tried to replace pistons, rods, rings, and/or the header let me know and give me your advice.

I want to be able to shoot more than a 50 shot, hence the replacement of the mentioned parts.

My last question is, if I replace my pistons, do I want a higher cr or a lower cr for NOS? I know for turbos, the lower you go, the better due to the characteristics of the turbo... however, I'm not too fimilar with NOS and what conditions are optimum for it.

If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Oh, and NO, im not swapping engines, so don't bother telling me to do so. The 7AFE is fine for what I want to do.

Experienced Advice only please.

I used nos on my car for a few months and loved it. I have a 94 st with about 120k miles on it. It has the 1.8L 7a-fe also. Talk about a kick in the butt. That stuff will set you back in your seat. I used the nos many times, with no problems on stock 7a-fe internals. I used short ram intake, upgraded spark plugs, and a junky muffler. I took the kit off to try the 7a-fte. Laugh if you want, but I wanted to be unique, and there are only a couple of people who have tried to turbo there 7a-fe's. Anyway, nos is awesome for the 7a-fe.

p.s. I still have my kit if you are looking for one. If you're interested, E-mail me
