i put 87 octane in my car.... what will i get from switching it to 93? besides about $3 more

So if my engine runs on 100 octane gas in Japan, do you know the equivalent in US octane? I always put 92 in my car now, and when I put octane booster in my tank, the car does run noticably smoother and seems to idle better, but it doesn't feel any faster. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
