 Exhaust Size, how big is too big? |

I was palnning on doing the 3S swap down the road and am looking to get an exhaust now. I was thinking of trying to save money and get 3" exhaust now. Course i'm worried this will just make me sound like ass and not give me the needed backpressure. So what size piping is everyone here running? Should I just go with 2.25 piping as planned?

It probably won't sound great, but it depends on the muffler. I think you might have missed the point of my little rant tho...backpressure you don't need...exhaust gas velocity you do need (on an NA car). 3" is too big for an NA 1.8 or 2.2. I'd go with 2.5 or 2.25 instead. 3" would be perfect for a turbo car. |
